Every marina & the diamonds gif I see literally make me stupider. Never have I seen lyrics as vapid as hers honestly, and to think people buy into this shit

This song was part of her concept album, Electra Heart. It’s a character she’s playing so it was meant to be vapid. If you listen to her first album, The Family Jewels, you’ll see the difference in songwriting.

i liked marina before but yeah vaspim is right here. chalking horrible lyrics up to a “concept character” don’t make them any less horrible or make it any less astonishing that so many people relate to them. it’s sad because i think she really is talented but she’s a sell out
